Context
“Inhabiting roots. Sensory practices in territory” is the second exhibition from (un)realities, an educational curatorial project that envisages the exhibition as a mediation tool capable of activating audience engagement and transforming heritage and the museum into a space of belonging, using participatory methodologies aimed at a shared construction of the narrative.
This website is designed as an extension of the project itself: a living record and, in turn, an expanded mediation tool that compiles, organises and activates the content, processes and dynamics carried out between 2025 and 2027. This tool is used to explore and delve deeper into Gambartes’ work and the artist himself, as well as into experiences, co-creation practices, spaces and shared knowledge that emerge throughout the whole project.
Inhabiting roots
This exhibition asks you to take a bodily and emotional journey through a shared territory, where individual experiences intertwine to create a collective identity.
Continuation of the (un)realities project: an exhibition envisaged for the public and by the public.
The project
(un)realities is an educational curatorial project that transforms the museum into a participatory space where audiences generate meaning, memory and experience. Two exhibitions, a comprehensive education programme, sustained participatory processes, physical and digital pedagogical tools, and co-creation practices make up a space for the shared construction of meaning and identity in which the public is at the heart.
Mural of collective memory
A space to recognise the traces of a collective memory woven from the participation of audiences and the connections that emerge between their narratives.
Conceptual map
A map of collective thought that compiles the ideas, associations and words generated by audiences, centring on one of the key notions in Leónidas Gambartes’ work: territory.
A living record
One of the cornerstones of (un)realities is to give visibility not just to the results, but also to the processes involved in the project. How the exhibition was conceived, how it – in turn – activated collective creativity…
Immerse yourself in the project’s processes and all the activities and elements that have brought it to life.
The museum
The Ralli Museum in Marbella is a non-profit space for modern and contemporary art. Active since 2000, its main mission is to make Latin American art visible beyond its borders, housing one of Europe’s most important collections of Latin American art.
Digital memories
We all have memories that we guard in our memory like a treasure. If you had to choose your most precious memory to generate an image using artificial intelligence, which would it be?
Videoteca
Uno de los ejes vertebradores de (i)realidades es dar visibilidad, no solo a los resultados, sino también a los procesos implicados en el proyecto. Cómo se concibió la exposición, cómo ésta -a su vez- devino activadora de la creatividad colectiva…
