Time: 12pm and 1pm (two sessions)

Suitable for all audiences

No need to book

Under the direction of Auxi Duarte, the theatre company “La Espiga Teatral” presents a performance of one of Federico García Lorca’s sonnets of dark love with an all-encompassing and unique aesthetic and atmosphere, influenced by the American stage director Robert Wilson.

This is gestural, textual and very visual theatre that seeks to create an aesthetic experience in the audience.

Attention is paid to the symbology of both creators, playing with space and time as if they were a parallel reality. Works of world art in motion are depicted, with surprising music, beauty in its purest form, gestures and words that resonate like eternal echoes of love.

The performance will take place in the main rooms of the museum, with very special staging.

In this workshop we will use creativity and genius to produce a triptych based on Herman Braun-Vega’s work “The Informal Family”.

This triptych is part of the series “PERU/SPAIN, Memories Exposed”, so we will talk about concepts like miscegenation, syncretism and memory, which are an essential part of the artist’s life and, therefore, of his work: “My work serves as testimony, challenging the viewer’s memory so that as they look at it and reflect on it, they can recreate it according to their experiences,” he said in an interview.

Workshop run by Ana Navarrete

A totem is an object that represents a clan, tribe or lineage through values of protection and worship. It is common in settled cultures throughout all the world’s continents.

In this workshop we will use recycled materials to create a community totem. Everyone will contribute their creativity and skills to this large-format piece that will be part of the exciting project behind the new temporary exhibition due to open in September 2024.

We will also frame the concept of the totem as a protective emblem of a tribe and its relationship with the Ralli Collection.

Workshop run by Marie de Smet.

3 August – Workshop to celebrate Pachamama Day

Date: 3 August

Time: 12pm

Suitable for all audiences

No need to book

Have you ever seen a Pachamama Day ritual? We invite you to experience this day and take part in this ritual of gratitude and reciprocity that is celebrated every year on 1 August, during the month of the winds, where the earth awakens. Gabriela Herrera will guide us through the whole ritual in the museum.

The ancient cultures of Tawantinsuyu (“The four kingdoms of the sun”) perform the “challa” or “tribute” to Pachamama with the finest natural foods, drinks and sacred plants.

This worldview of the Andean peoples represents time and origin, the feminine. It is about the principle of giving and protection, the Mother dimension, the Mother Universe, the progenitor of sowing and harvesting, the one who regenerates everything.

Experience led by Gabriela Herrera.
